Parklex
FACADE, WALL & FLOOR Finishes
WE -ARE -SUSTAiNABLE have worked with the international brand PARKLEX for a number of years. Manufacturers of real wood vaneered panels, used externally and internally. All their products are protected by specially developed Parklex overlays, enabling the different materials to withstand substantial climactic change, heavy rainfall, freezing temperatures, extreme heat, UV, damaging corrosive salt air; even man-made abuse such as Graffiti. This amazing handmade product is available in a number of beautiful real wood vaneered finishes.
For more than a decade, the exterior walls of new build or renovated houses have increasingly seen architects and builders finish the elevations with white paint, or through colour render. To increase a property’s natural or sustainable credentials, wood panelling, such as Canadian Redwood Cedar or Larch has been placed onto these elevations. Whilst this is attractive for the beginning of its addition, it does little for the environment and certain natural timbers have a problem coping with our wet, damp and polluted environment, therefore requiring careful maintenance every 3 years, to remove green algae, black pollution particles and other urban staining.
The sustainable wood products we use are manufactured to address all these issues. PARKLEX vaneered panel systems are extremely deserving of its sustainable status, offering minimal maintenance, and long life. Supplied in large panel format (2440x1220), and in different thicknesses, it can also be factory cut to suit your application. Curved panels too can be created to form fabulous shapes, with ease of use, and simple to install. The benefits of this amazing product are not restricted to the exterior of a building; it can be used internally for flooring, ceilings and walls. Because of the manufacturing process and overlay technology, it brings the beauty of natural wood, while offering virtually no wear or tracking marks, simple to look after and maintain. Depending on the application and aesthetics, the panels can also be used to assist with any acoustic requirements. Parklex has been used nationally and internationally, residentially, in hotels, offices, shopping centres, ships, museums, leisure facilities, libraries, lecture halls, theatres and other areas of education.
